BIG∆ [bì-ga] from ancient latin bi¯ga(m), der. by the locution biiu°gae (e°quae) 'double yoke (horses)'. Noun: 1. two wheeler wagon. 2. (dial.) in Milanese dialect, bicycle.
[under construction]
We have chosen to graphically represent the Biga replacing the last vowel with a delta symbol: Big-∆elta. In physics, the Greek letter δ/∆ (delta) is used as symbol of distances or small lengths, deviations and deflections.
The BIG∆ it is an adaptation of the "Witte Fiets" ("White Bicycles") an idea that Provos, a Dutch countercultural movement, has had in the sixties: by civic initiative white "public domain" bicyles were distributed for free.
BIGΔ is the actualization of that idea. BIGΔ is a dream. BIGΔ is the project for a sustainable mobility, of rare simplicity and proven efficiency.
Today are actively participating in the project - in alphabetical order - Luca Taro Morishita, architect, Federico Niola, philosopher and Nicola Sisti Ajmone, actor. Also who reads this page, we like to think.
